i had this dream numerous times as a kid and it would always preempt getting sick....
i'm hovering in a huge black void and looking down on a shoe-box. i move down closer to it and notice it's empty except for one rubber band that appears at the top left corner of the shoe-box and begins stretching itself out towards the lower left corner of the box, then to other lower right side and then the upper right side -- each time it reaches a corner it sticks to it so the rubber band is now in the shape of the shoe-box, stretched out. when it begins stretching even further to end up back at the original upper left corner of the box i feel anxiety, more and more the further it stretches and the closer it gets to that corner. by the time it's almost there i'm in a state of terror and finally SNAP. as soon as it reaches that corner it snaps in a huge violent motion and paper money flies up and rains down all around like confetti. when the money clears, i see that the shoe-box has disappeared and there is a thick heavy rope tied in a knot in it's place. as i move in closer i see a tiny tiny sewing pin in the middle of the huge knot. the rope is tightening around this tiny pin and again, i feel almost paralyzed with fear. again, it gets tighter and tighter and the pin is barely visible in the huge knot and right when it tightens as much as it can around that pin, when i'm at the height of fear and terror - i wake up. completely soaked all the way through my clothes and blankets with sweat. and it takes a long time to stop sobbing. the dream repeats itself over and over and over again, each time the same thing happens and as soon as i calm down and wake up, i go right back into the dream.
when morning finally comes, i am always very very sick with flu-like symptoms.
