So I keep an actual dream journal and I've been posting various entries from that. (Well the good or meaningful ones, at least).
I am sure everybody notices how they behave differently in their dreams than in waking life. How sometimes we act purely on impulse, disregard the constant contradictions in the physics or structure of the dream environment, or just altogether fail to care or notice how strange something might be in our dreams.
I noticed that I don't react as severely as I would in the waking world. Discovering a collective of cyborgs and meeting their consciousness, finding myself in a library littered with corpses or discovering that my girlfriend makes snuff films would probably give me a few grey hairs in real life. However it never seems to phase me when I'm dreaming.
Does anybody else see this difference? If so, do you believe there is any significant meaning to it?
