I am an American soldier in Germany. This seems to be some kind of parallel universe where the Nazis won WWII. It 2011 now and we are at war once again. Yay. I am in a garage of sorts explaining to some of my comrades my intention to desert from the U.S. Army and escape to Egypt. They are baffled by all of this both on the grounds that it is impractical (I don't speak German) and the stuff of cowards and traitors. Now normally I consider myself an enthusiastic anti-fascist, so I can only assume the political complexities in this alternate universe are such that my energies could be put to better use in Egypt than in fighting the Nazis in WWIII or whatever.
At this point the dream enters a long interlude involving scenes that seem to be borrowed from the movie the Great Escape, in particular the bits where the Brits are rowing boats, forging fake papers, etc.
Eventually I arrive with my little sister Corrie and we are sitting on the lawn in a courtyard at a university in Cairo. We are there for a vast assembly of workers councils and other revolutionary organizations to decide the nature of the new form of social organization in the aftermath of the 2nd Revolution. There is mixed anxiety and excitement as the debates and discussions begin. It is a sunny and beautiful day. I kind of fade out and wake up at this point.
