Welcome One and All

I am with my middle sister in this dream. We are somewhere out west, the air was cool and dry. An elementary school sat upon a mountainous landscape, and we were teachers of some sort. It felt like we were infiltrating this school for some reason, but we were undercover. It was not a negative feeling, nothing bad was going on, we were just fake teachers for some reason. One of the real staff members of this school was a female named Dani. She was a couple of years older than me. She had some kind of interest or intent with me or with both my sister and I maybe, because she handed me an origami airplane that she made. On the paper were these scribbled markings. Nothing that I could make out, but I had the sense that this was an important symbol in some covert way. I let the task of figuring out what this meant slip away from my mind though, because now my sister and I were leaving out of the back of this school, down this mountainous terrain. There was no grass, just dirt, rocks, and strange, dry foliage to which I am not accustomed. We are winding around this land when it starts to change to something more familiar. Forest and trees with a bit flatter ground. [This next part is very clear in my mind, so I will try to describe it with great detail.] Then all of a sudden, this loud echoing voice comes bouncing through the trees "WELCOME ONE AND ALL!" It was definitely amplified, as through a PA system. It was a male voice, and the tone was gritty, almost facetiously forced through gritted teeth. Then music started playing. We walk just a bit further and see the source of this exclamation: To our left is this open stage curtain, just out in the middle of the woods. A frame that extends maybe 15 feet across to hold this ratty, dirty navy blue curtain. Immediately on the other side of the curtain is descending amphitheater steps. We walk up to this scene, and scattered among these descending bleachers are musicians who are making this music we are hearing. There are horns, strings, percussion, winds, guitar, everything. There were about twenty or so musicians total. They were just wearing regular clothes, nothing fancy. There was no order to how they were sitting throughout these steps. Lots of space was between each of them, so my sister and I sat down among them, still close to the curtain opening where we entered. It felt awkward to be there, so I looked around and noticed a conductor of sorts at the bottom of these descending steps. He was wearing a sparkling white button down shirt, with a sparkly black suit and sparkly top hat to match. He had a crazy look about his eyes, stubbly facial hair and an angry/frustrated expression. Then I looked beyond him and noticed ascending amphitheater steps extending up behind him. No one was sitting over there. It all clicked right at this point and I realized that this was indeed a concert, the house seats are on the other side behind the conductor, and not a soul was out here to see this show. The booming voice that we had heard as we were walking up was the conductor, and he was pissed that no one was out here to see this concert which is why he sounded facetious. My sister and I get up and walk around and down to the steps where the audience is supposed to be. We are sitting listening to this music, which is absolutely wonderful. It is an upbeat, modern sounding music, no vocals, but very interesting. There's no way for me to really describe it. Then, a few people start to show up and take seats near us. Among these people are my cousin and one of my band members. They sit right next to my sister and I. I then remember my earlier mission of being a fake teacher and figuring out the encoded origami airplane, so inquire about the time. I have this sense that I need to be getting back to that school. My fellow band member says to me something like, "Don't worry about it, it is after 4pm anyway." I look down at my watch and it is in some weird mode that I can't read. Then I say to him something like "You know I am actually enjoying being a teacher, who would've thought that in a million years?" It was indeed 4:31 once I got my watch to work, so I didn't need to go back to the school.
