Ambiguous Trilocated Intersection

Morning of August 23, 2015. Sunday.

This dream was of the type that keeps continuously “resetting” and repeating for hours throughout the sleeping period. In this particular case it was also a trilocated composite of three real-life locations, which created ambiguity in both the setting and directional orientation. Even though there is only one main intersection, it is of three trilocated areas where I am aware of the nuances of each (though this does not disorient me; it only puzzles me most of the time, though I have no idea where “I actually am” at all).

The setting is the intersection near Tinsley’s IGA in Arcadia, Florida as it was in the early 1970s. It is also the intersection near Skogen’s IGA in La Crosse, Wisconsin as it was in the 1980s. It is also the intersection near Hinkler Central (Australia) as it is now. My brain must have been “busy” constructing this mess in my sleep, though I can think of a lot better things it could be doing. Each area, I was very familiar with and probably saw on and off over about a fifteen year time period for each, though there have been minor changes in the American locations.

Assuming I am looking south (ahead and to my right), the unusual door issue would be in the southwest block of the intersection (though the orientation is actually skewed and incorrect). There is some sort of steel door, almost like for a bank vault, on the corner building, but only at certain times, a sort of mystery or unexplainable feature that may be relevant to possibly a threat or some sort of portal to another world or at least another aspect of an undesirable and uneducated fringe group of modern society. It is hard to explain. I do not care for its existence or essence at all, though it never opens or poses any actual threat (and I see no one use it at any point).

Oddly, the door is “replaced” by another door at times - a more mundane door into possibly a bakery or restaurant. (I also get a transient impression that it is also a bank at times, but that makes little sense.) I should also know that I do not live directly in the area, yet I am there most of the time not doing anything in particular.

This dream seems “important” for some reason even though it makes no sense and has no actual plot or linearity (as with a lot of dreams, though). It also seems to be a “repeat” in some ways of past dreams with the exact same dynamics and layered locations (though excluding the Hinkler one). An intersection relates to how certain people in real life cross your path at times though may also be related to “opposite” beliefs or perhaps even a perceived enemy (real or symbolic).

At any rate, this dream puzzled me so I felt I had to look into any possible reasons for it, perhaps visual, and there were some odd unexpected similarities, but only very minor. Looking at the actual in-dream trilocated features, at least as they are now in reality, I saw that the “letter X” appeared on buildings in two of the facets, and also noticed how the Australian crosswalk was of broken lines and the American one of unbroken lines. There also seems to be “implied steps” (though two-dimensional) in the facade near the roofs of at least two of the buildings in the same general area. (I am sure there is an architectural word for this but I cannot presently recall it.)

I have no idea otherwise. Skewed memory on vacation.
