Toy Vending Machine

Morning of February 22, 2015. Sunday.

This turns out to be another gadget dream. It starts by being a scenario of my youngest son having a birthday (which was recently in real life), though the presents are different in-dream. After a short time, the attention is mostly on a miniature vending machine. It almost seems like a miniature version of an old Coca-Cola machine at first but changes over time. Naturally, I look inside it from the upper part of the back and it looks a lot bigger inside. I can see various metallic mechanisms in the inner compartment. Whatever toys are inside it are within the mostly hollow mechanical sections rather than the front where they would otherwise be normally distributed from (typical of a gadget dream).

At one point, I manage to get a couple items out of the inside of it. I also look farther down and notice several cut-out daily black-and-white comic strips that are taped upside-down over the internal silver walls. One of them, of about four panels, looks like it is about crows flying around (it may be Mary Worth being attacked by crows in a singular comedic gag rather than the real-life adult comic strip, though there is no way to know if they are actually attacking her). I think about taking them out to read but I decide not to. They seem a bit too far down to pull out presently anyway.

After I spend a fair length of time examining the toy vending machine (again, mostly the inside), I give my son two of the presents that came from it, one being a raccoon figure (which is possibly a windup toy) and the other being a jigsaw puzzle of a squirrel. However, the jigsaw puzzle, which comes in a small pillow-shaped transparent bag, is made from packing peanuts and apparently has issues. My wife regards it negatively but with a cheerful tone. It remains unopened due to an identical puzzle having already been used and there were problems with it (I suspect the pieces being too soft to stay connected properly as well as the pieces themselves possibly crumbling apart). I have an in-dream false memory of the problems with the other packing peanuts jigsaw puzzle and decide that I will probably discard the duplicate.
