Night of April 9, 1969. Wednesday.
Because of my father's radio being on (on a large white dresser along the left side of the west side of the room), I am supposedly able to determine if there are helicopters in the area and how close they are. In real life, it was a Hallicrafters radio and my father habitually called it "Hellacrafters" (seemingly stressing the "hella" part quite dramatically at times, especially when first talking to a particular person about it). This changed in my mind in some in-dream states to "helicopters". Of course, this was augmented by the fact that the shortwave radio often made continuous helicopter-like sounds and other odd frequencies and noises as well as "frogs talking".
At one point, I "realize" that I am listening to the heartbeat of the pilot when the "helicopter" sound seems much slower on one band. This is an eerie awareness and I move my head closer...this turns out to be the sound used with the virtual clock or whatever it is, when a man's voice announces the time using the word "universal" every so often (though according to additional research, the "Coordinated Universal Time" routine was supposedly not used by the station until 1974 - prior to that it was "Greenwich", even though I had documentation that the word was used, at least in-dream or possibly by a different station). I suppose one could be "trapped" sitting there forever listening to this ominous rhythmic sound and hearing the time announced from then on...the voice seems more serious and authoritative and yet more cleverly "dramatic" than any voice on television (including news announcers) or from any movie scenario. In real life, I sometimes sat listening for quite awhile, almost like a form of childhood meditation, I suppose.
In a rarely occurring astronomical event later, the moon becomes heart-shaped because of some sort of illusion involving light and shadow. I am trying to work out if helicopter pilots are "automatically" astronauts. (I think I was also outgrowing the "asteroids are giant bones" phase - an early childhood impression I found hard to dismiss.)
