"The Military Stir"

Morning of January 29, 2014. Wednesday.

I decided to call this "The Military Stir" after the concept of the old "Manster" movie because of how it ends, although there is not much other logic as to why; it is just what came to mind.

My dream seems to relate that I am a military convict or some such, not sure why. I am not "myself" but in a seemingly different role and a different person with a completely different appearance and background (past). There are a few redundant scenes. Originally, I seem to be with a group of fellow escapees. However, I eventually go off on my own after the rest of them decide to "hide" in a building that is not really that hidden in the sense of places to stay for a week or two - maybe a couple less obvious rooms within rooms (recurring), especially as the authorities are already close by in the same area, not even a full block away. They think I am wrong in leaving and so I may be more "exposed", but it really does not seem that way. I run near an area with mostly tall grass and railroad tracks as well as mainly residential areas. I only see a couple police cars and military vehicles going a different direction. I seem to be going north most of the time, or northeast. (Northeast seems to be overwhelmingly the direction I often go when wanting to get somewhere in a dream - especially when relating to following railroad tracks.)

There is the old movie cliché of taking a role onstage while I am being looked for and in this case am not discovered. Later, it repeats somewhat as I end up going into an underground-like area, but which turns out to be some sort of clothing store by which I end up in a fashion show preparation. (I often dream of fashion shows being under the ground - probably because I see fashion trends as herd mentality, mundane, "lower", and unimportant.) The woman seems to think I was the main model to be in the show. No others show up.

I end up going into an unlocked house from an alley where it is semi-dark inside. Suddenly, a younger version of my wife appears. I appear to be on a large bed (head of it to the north) trying to work out what direction to go. In most dreams of this nature, I end up going into a building and then wondering how to get out the other side (have had such dreams since earliest childhood) - it is often clothing stores, restaurants, and office buildings and such, as well as residential homes.

At any rate, I get very strange sensations in my body. I hold onto my wife and start indulging in a bit of passion and the other character seems to literally "split" from out of me (as in "The Manster") so that we are now two people. This is quite intriguing and I do not immediately or presently recall any previous time this had occurred. The other character who was not "me" (at all) in the first place continues his "escape" to the north as if I had physically fallen out of a movie character into my own preferred scenario as myself. My wife makes unusual sounds that are almost like a panther hissing and growling but this does not bother me. The physical sensations are very vivid and realistic. I eventually wake in an enhanced pleasurable state.

Instead of this being evidence that other characters in dreams represent a part of yourself (which I always thought to be rather ridiculous, depending on the context), it seems to represent the opposite - that even in dreams, you may be in the "role" of someone else who is not at all a part of yourself in the end. This seems very valid to me - yet another way people in the past have "gotten it wrong" regarding dreams, especially considering how many people are not at all like themselves in particular dreams or like other characters, either.
