I was in a car with someone at night and i looked up at the sky with my jaw dropped suddenly because super-imposed on the night sky, over the stars, were 3 guys with tiny lights on the sides of their eyes and instruments in their hands that they were creating lines with. (2 lines attached to a fixed point, like 2 sides of a triangle.)
later in the dream i actually saw one of these people in the day time and i confronted him and introduced myself. he told me that because i was able to see them, i was one of the chosen ones with the opportunity to "receive the gift" and then he invited me to "work" with them at this place where all the other chosen people were "working," so I did. I don't remember much of any actual work being done (hence the " marks) but I do remember taking a lunch break...
During this break i discovered that my friend Philip was at this place where the chosen ones go. He had been gifted, i think, though i never saw him use his powers. He spent most of his time at a desk and he was doing some kind of orchestrating of reality in the same way that the 3 guys in the sky had been doing.
I was never entirely clear as to what the gift involved, in terms of powers, but i was witness finally to what it meant to receive the gift, while watching a band perform. One of the band members received the gift while they were playing. Suddenly spindly blue lightning was shooting out of his body - mainly his hands - and mildly electrocuting everything and everyone around him. people were running and tripping over gear to get out of his way. the look on his face was mostly shocked and bewildered with a touch of triumph.
Later, my friend Casey received the gift. He had somehow reached a level of power that was that of the masters of the gift, but right from the start. This meant that he was immediately granted a full-ride (guaranteed funding) to start a school for the chosen ones down in LA. It was to be a healing and arts center... I remember asking him to heal my back, but I don't think we ever actually got around to it in the dream. (perhaps if we had i would have woken up without pain...? that'd be nice.)
I never received the gift in the dream. I'd love to go back again to see if it happens. I'd also like to be able to see the place we were in again and remember more of the detail of what it looked like. I remember people in crazy costumes and strange/magical creatures roaming around with them. One couple had 4 or 5 weird poodles that had tiny bodies and disproportionately long legs - they looked like cartoons, but there was something slightly menacing about them... i think maybe they had razor-sharp teeth.
