I dreamed I had a blonde wolf as A pet "companion." We were in the woods and from the bushes we see a pack of grey wolves emerge. Their demeanor was vicious as they began to surround us. Naturally my pet sidekick comes to my defense and the pack is taken aback by her care for me. At first they are perplexed but it seemed to break the ice. Their demeanor eases up and tails begin to wag as a sign of acceptance of my dog and I. There was a sudden shift at this point as an unspoken assimilation into the pack. The welcoming in this new rank into the natural order was short lived when one of the wolves had picked up the scent of something far off in the distance. It was not long before the other wolves had picked up on it too. As soon as one wolf takes of galloping off into the woods the others follow seconds apart trailing beside and behind one another. My wolf looks up at me and too takes off into the wilderness after this wild scent. And I then follow just behind out of comradery, curiosity and the safety of my pet with our new found pack. I run at my top speed through thick ivy and mud. Weaving around trees and between bushes with adrenaline coursing through my veins. I then reach a clearing to where I see the wolves a good distance away huddled around something. I had stopped there hunched over with my hands on my knees catching my breathe. I perked my head up and I could see A mother cougar with what looked like her baby cub she was protecting. While the wolves stared them down drooling in anticipation. I then woke up.
Wolves may have positive or negative meaning and may represent good or evil in dreams. They could represent hostility, aggression, sneakiness, and ferocious appetites. In some cultures, wolves represent feminine energies and in others masculine. In the Native American culture and tradition, the wolf is a symbol of a mysterious and wonderful teacher. Wolves are considered to be powerful guides who offer wisdom and enlightenment. When interpreting your dream consider your feelings in it and the mood upon awakening. Symbolic of valour among the Romans and the Egyptians. It also
appears as a guardian in a great many monuments (8). In Nordic mythology we
are told of a monstrous wolf, Fenris, that would destroy iron chains and shackles
and was eventually shut up in the bowels of the earth. It was also said that, with
the twilight of the gods—the end of the world—the monster would break out of
this prison too, and would devour the sun. Here, then, the wolf appears as a
symbol of the principle of evil, within a pattern of ideas which is unquestionably
related to the Gnostic cosmogony. Nordic mythology presupposes that cosmic
order is possible only through the temporary shackling of the chaotic and destructive potential of the universe—a potential which (through the process of
Symbolic Inversion—q.v.) must triumph in the end. The myth is also connected
with all other concepts of the final annihilation of the world, whether by water or
by fire.
