Last night, I had one of the most unpleasant dreams in my life.
It started harmless with some vision of me playing some kind of RPG on a pc and and at the same time tries to paint a minature. Kind of inspirational so that's good.
But now the strange part starts.
I find my self in a room looking at a working desk and then suddenly I'm inside the wall behind the desk. The wood is rotten so I start pressing myself through. Before that I call the owner of the building telling him to move his computer so it won't get crushed when the wall folds.
After getting out of the wall I feel that something's wrong. I'm looking at myself undressed in the mirror while a friend is also watching.
At first we establish there is nothing wrong but then we realise I have two sets of spinal chords sticking out of my skinny body. But one of them is fake and the bumps starts spreading around all over my back. Some kind of creatures are moving under my skin in a quick pace.
My friend is gone to check with a doctor what to do about this and for some reason I'm laying in a bed, in the dark!
Something similair to slugs comes out of my mouth repeatingly.
I remove the blanket from the bed I was laying in and find me surrounded by a horde of small spiders. I get out of bed quickly and realise the moving bumps on my back are gone.
Good thing? No, instead they have been replaced with white featureless plants growing out all over the back area of my body, even some tiny ones at the back of my head!
Start tearing them of. Their singular roots have formed big pores on my skin and they go out quite painlessly. Many of them are as long as my fingers and someone is freaking out at the fact that they where inside me.
I see more of my deformed body with white bits sticking out all over it and then I wake up.
The visions are still haunting me and after waking up from the dream I spent some time at the mirror, checking everything's as it should be, my back and mouth in particular, checking the bed for any spiders. I manage to go back to sleep after a while.
What bugs me the most is the way I acted in the dream, being almost apathetic to the events while the few onwatchers that appeared where shocked.
I think I know why I had this dream from the start but this wall of text is long enough already. I think it's about certain fears and bad habits I need to rid myself of.
Its significance is diverse, depending upon which of its different characteristics is taken as fundamental. In the Egyptian system of hieroglyphs, the
wall is a determinative sign conveying the idea of ‘rising above the common level’
(19); clearly the predominant sense here is that of its height. A wall enclosing a
space is the ‘wall of lamentations’, symbolic of the sensation of the world as a
‘cavern’—of the doctrine of immanentism or the metaphysical notion of the
impossibility of reaching the outside. It expresses the ideas of impotence, delay,
resistance, or a limiting situation. Now, the wall seen from within as an enclosure
has a secondary implication of protection which, according to its function and the
attitude of the individual, may even be taken as its principal meaning. Psychoanalysts frequently regard it in this light and hence have classified it as a mothersymbol, comparable with the town and the house or home (56). Bayley sums up the two essential features of the wall as follows: Like the house, it is a mystic
symbol representing the feminine element of mankind. This enables us to understand the (otherwise absurd) assertion of the Shulamite in the Song of Songs: ‘I
am a wall’. At the same time, this image has another term of comparison, that of
matter as opposed to spirit (4). It should be noted that the symbolism in the latter
case remains unchanged, since matter corresponds to the passive or feminine
principle, and spirit to the active or masculine.
Skin is associated with the ideas of birth and rebirth. In the Egyptian
system of hieroglyphs there is a determinative sign comprising three skins knotted together, signifying ‘to be born’; it comes into the composition of words such
as ‘to engender’, ‘to bring up’, ‘child’, ‘to form’. The amulet which the Egyptians used to present to the newly-born comprised, like the hieroglyph, three animal
pelts which were attached to a solar globe. The number of the skins here refers to
the essentially threefold nature of the human being—the body, the soul and the
spirit—while the globe denotes his incorporation into the All. The symbolism of
skin is borne out by the rite known as ‘the passage through the skin’ which
pharaohs and priests used to carry out in order to rejuvenate themselves; this rite
was later replaced by a simulacrum, and then latterly it became just a panther’s
tail which kings wore knotted round their waist. This notion that an individual
may assume the characteristics of an animal, with its totemic implications, also
comes into skin-symbolism (19). There is a basic analogy here with the sacrificial
rite once practised by the priests of pre-Columbian Mexico in which human
victims were clad in skins; similarly with the wearing of skins by the bearers of
the signum in Roman legions.

lunar animal because the moon (owing to its passive character, in the sense that it
merely reflects light, and because of its waxing and waning phases, taking these in
the positive and negative sense) is related to the world of phenomena, and, on the
psychic level, to the imagination. Thus the moon, since it holds sway over the
whole phenomenal world (for all phenomenal forms are subject to growth and
death), weaves the thread of each man’s destiny. Accordingly, the moon is depicted as a gigantic spider in many myths (17).

legend and folklore, it is frequently invested with a magic quality—a mere hypertrophic version of its fundamental meaning. In this way it serves to invoke
apparitions by conjuring up again the images which it has received at some time
in the past, or by annihilating distances when it reflects what was once an object
facing it and now is far removed. This fluctuation between the ‘absent’ mirror and
the ‘peopled’ mirror lends it a kind of phasing, feminine in implication, and
hence—like the fan—it is related to moon-symbolism. Further evidence that the
mirror is lunar is afforded by its reflecting and passive characteristics, for it
receives images as the moon receives the light of the sun (8). Again, its close
relationship to the moon is demonstrated by the fact that among the primitives it
was seen as a symbol of the multiplicity of the soul: of its mobility and its ability
to adapt itself to those objects which ‘visit’ it and retain its ‘interest’. At times,
it takes the mythic form of a door through which the soul may free itself ‘passing’
to the other side: this is an idea reproduced by Lewis Carroll in Alice Through the
Looking Glass. This alone is sufficient explanation of the custom of covering up
mirrors or turning them to face the wall on certain occasions, in particular when someone in the house dies (21). All that we have said so far by no means exhausts
the complex symbolism of the mirror: like the echo, it stands for twins (thesis and
antithesis), and specifically for the sea of flames (or life as an infirmity) (50, 51).
For Loeffler, mirrors are magic symbols for unconscious memories (comparable
with crystal palaces) (38). Hand-mirrors, in particular, are emblems of truth (4),
and in China they are supposed to have an allegorical function as aids to conjugal
happiness as well as a protection against diabolical influences (5). Some Chinese
legends tell of ‘the animals in the mirror’.
