I traveled through a portal to a dark and hellish landscape, grounds covered in skeletons and impaled bodies. I called it the "Blight" in my mind. It was nightmarish, but didn't affect me at all, as I made my way through the forest of death to a secret bunker entry.
Inside, I wound my way through a labyrinth of tunnels and halls until I came to an area well populated with young academic types. They milled about a large library with many racks of books, movies, and other media.
The library itself was a kind of Akashic Wisdom Hold, where the books and movies you watched could be easily memorized and known in their entirety through a single viewing. All the people walking around, looking like focused college kids, had a gleam in their eyes like they knew the secret wealth around them, and the skill involved in finding this special magical place.
I imagined that few people could handle arriving in the hellish landscapes above, and so very few of them would ever find their way to this place without knowing where they were going. It was a secret club of brilliant individuals who honored the knowledge and wisdom held here, and knew that it was protected well for a good reason.
Later I found myself attending the International Symposium on Digital Earth (ISDE - where I was the featured Gala Speaker years ago). There I ran into Luke Webb, a friend from High School, who was a speaker at the symposium. I was going to be presenting as well, and had gathered a very special selection of information to share with this international community, which included representatives from NASA, Google, Satellite Agencies, and other groups that regularly attend ISDE.
